Class Size:
About 14 students, 4 adults (master techer, assistant teacher, 2 assisting parents). Adult/child ratio: 1:4.

Emphasis:
Gentle separation from parents/caretakers. Social skills (sharing, cooperating, being part of a group), outdoor play, art and music, pre-reading and math skills taught through play/integrated theme.

Specials:

Drama/dance, library, day trips, music, Spanish, hollow blocks time.

Class Size:
About 16 students, 3 adults (master teacher, assistant teacher, 1 assisting parents). Adult/child ratio: 1:6.

Emphasis:
Gentle separation from parents/caretakers. Social skills (sharing, cooperating, being part of a group), outdoor play, art and music, pre-reading and math skills taught through play/integrated theme.

Specials:

Drama/dance, library, day trips, music, Spanish, hollow blocks time.

Class Size:

Social education and pre-academic skills taught trough play, creative arts, and integrated theme. Individualized academic program based on child’s readiness.

Specials:

Drama/movement, visual art, music, physical education, library, Spanish, health, day trips.

Math, language arts, social studies, science. (Specific disciplines are organized around thematic curriculum.) Nightly homework assigned.

Emphasis:

Academic skills, continuing development of social skills and self-confidence, independence, creative expression.

Specials:
Music, Spanish, physical education/dance, art (in-class and studio), technology, day trips, and overnight trip beginning in 2nd grade.

Math, language arts, social studies, science (themed curriculum approach continues, incorporating direct skill instruction in math, language arts, research skills, and laboratory). Children have a homeroom teacher and move to different classrooms (and teachers) for different subjects.  Nightly homework assigned.

Emphasis:

Academic skills, continuing development of social skills and self-confidence, independence, creative expression, test-taking skills.

Specials:
Music, Spanish, physical education/dance, studio art, library, technology lab, day trips, Camp Fairview, Sedge Island overnight trips.

Class Size:
About 18 students.

Core Subjects :
Math, language arts, social studies, science (themed curriculum approach continues, incorporating direct skill instruction in math, language arts, research skills, and laboratory science).  Children have a homeroom teacher and move to different classrooms (and teachers) for different subjects.  Nightly homework assigned..

Emphasis:

Academic skills, continuing development of social skills and self-confidence, independence, creative expression, test-taking skills. Standardized tests administered annually. Letter grades given in all academic subjects.

Specials:
Spanish, philosophy, music, physical education/dance, studio art, museum? Independent study project? Internship? library, technology lab, day trips, Extensive overnight trips include Springbrook Farm, Kroka Expeditions.  Eighth graders travel to Mexico to stay with Mexican host for 10 days and then host the child back home.
