The Co-op seeks a mix of children from diverse backgrounds who will flourish in a cooperative learning environment. Interested families are encouraged to attend an open house. Parents tour the school and meet the Head of School and members of the teaching and admissions staff. Private tours can also be arranged.
Prospective students are required to visit the school as part of the application process. Nursery applicants (and their parents) meet with a teacher and the Head of School and participate in small play groups, scheduled in January and February. Children applying for Pre-K and Kindergarten visit the school for half a day. Older children spend the day with a class of their peers.
During their visit, nursery and Pre-K students are evaluated in the areas of social and language development. Candidates for Kindergarten through 8th grade are tested for skill levels in math, reading, and writing.
